Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the alcohol with 1 c. of brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a saucepan. Bring to boil and then reduce to a simmer for 10 min.
Lay out bacon strips directly on the baking sheet and brush the alcohol reduction over the strips. Sprinkle with remaining ¼ c. of brown sugar.
Cook for 20 minutes, but check periodically.
Cantaloupe and Mozzarella Caprese Salad
When you swap out the tomatoes for sweet melon, this salad quickly becomes an amazing combination of sweet and salty.
- 1 cantaloupe, halved and seeded
- 18 oz mozzarella balls — pearl-sized
- 8-10 slices of prosciutto, shredded
- ¼ c. basil leaves, thinly chopped
- ¼ c. mint leaves, thinly chopped
- 3 tbsp. EVOO
- 1 ½ tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
- Kosher salt and black pepper
Use a melon baller to scoop out the cantaloupe and place in a large bowl. Add the prosciutto, sprinkle basil, and mint leaves.
Whisk together EVOO, honey, and white balsamic vinegar. Drizzle over bowl contents and season with salt and pepper.
Mini Pancake Stacks
Another sweet treat dish that is even more fun to eat. These mini flapjack stacks add a bit of artistic flair to your bridal shower brunch food.
- Pancake mix
- ¼ c. lemon curd
- 12 raspberries
- 12 blueberries
- 24 mint leaves
- 24 toothpicks
- Confectioners’ sugar

Slice the rolls in half and line the bottom of the pan. Layer ham, turkey, and cheese, and then place the tops back on.
In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter, egg, and Dijon mustard. Pour mixture over the rolls and tent with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes, uncover and bake for 15 minutes more. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with raspberry preserves.
Almond-Bacon and Cheese Crostini

- 1 French baguette, cut into ½ inch angled slices

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees and put bread slices on the baking sheet. Bake for 8-9 minutes.
Combine mayonnaise, cheese, almonds, onion, bacon, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Spread over the bread slices and bake again until the cheese melts.
