7 Recipes for an unforgettable bridal shower brunch

Oven-baked Candied Whiskey Bacon

Bacon is an absolute must for any brunch, and you’ll find that this candied version is the best you’ve ever had. Ingredients:
    • 12 strips of good quality bacon
    • 1 c. whiskey or bourbon (chef’s choice)
    • 1 ¼ c. dark brown sugar
    • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the alcohol with 1 c. of brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a saucepan. Bring to boil and then reduce to a simmer for 10 min. Lay out bacon strips directly on the baking sheet and brush the alcohol reduction over the strips. Sprinkle with remaining ¼ c. of brown sugar. Cook for 20 minutes, but check periodically.

    • 3 tbsp. EVOO
    • 1 ½ tbsp. honey
    • 1 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
    • Kosher salt and black pepper
Use a melon baller to scoop out the cantaloupe and place in a large bowl. Add the prosciutto, sprinkle basil, and mint leaves. Whisk together EVOO, honey, and white balsamic vinegar. Drizzle over bowl contents and season with salt and pepper.
